Product range / TiltWatch tilt indicators
Indicators that provide a permanent indication that a shipment has been tilted or tipped over. Suitable wherever cargo must remain upright.

Practical applications
A shipment tilt indicator provides a permanent signal that cargo has been laid on its side or tipped over. It is used for instruments, glass, servers and other products that must remain upright.
Measuring instruments, medical devices, servers and laboratory equipment.
Mirrors, glazing, furniture and components that require upright transport.
Exhibits, display cases and valuable objects in specialist transport.

Full product range details
A tilt indicator shows whether a shipment that must remain upright has been laid on its side, tilted excessively or tipped over. It is used for instruments, electronics, glass, furniture, works of art and machinery transported by road, sea and air.
TiltWatch XTR provides a simple signal when the tilt angle threshold is exceeded, TiltWatch Plus shows the direction and degree of tilt, and QR and RFID versions support digital checks at goods receipt. The indicator does not physically protect the cargo; it documents how it has been handled.

Indicator for tilt angle and complete overturning
How it works
Three indicators in one device detect left tilt, right tilt and complete overturning of cargo, showing not only whether it tilted but also by how much.
Application and use
When you need to know not only whether tilting occurred, but also its direction and approximate angle. Apply the indicator vertically to a clean, clearly visible side of the packaging. Before dispatch, check the mounting orientation and mark the shipment as instructed.
| Activation angle | in 10° increments from 30° (±5°) |
|---|---|
| Operating temperature | −40 °C to +60 °C |
| Dimensions | 117 × 117 × 8 mm |

Product FAQ
When you need to know not only whether tilting occurred, but also its direction and approximate angle.
When selecting an indicator, consider the permitted tilt angle, mounting position, reading method and number of shipments to be monitored. Key features of this solution include shows the degree of tilt to the left and right and indicates complete overturning.

Single-use tilt indicator for angles above 80°
How it works
Turns red when a shipment tilts beyond 80°, while ignoring normal transport vibration. Provides clear evidence that the cargo has been handled incorrectly.
Application and use
For a simple visual check of whether a shipment has been laid on its side or turned upside down. Apply the indicator vertically to a clean, clearly visible side of the packaging. Before dispatch, check the mounting orientation and mark the shipment as instructed.
| Activation angle | above 80° |
|---|---|
| Tolerance | ±5° at 20 °C |
| Operating temperature | −40 °C to +60 °C, 5–99% RH |
| Dimensions | 74.3 × 60.3 × 5.3 mm |
| Arming | automatic when the adhesive backing is removed |
| Indication | permanent, irreversible |

Tilt indicator with scan-based data recording
How it works
Tilt indicator for angles above 80° with a QR code. A phone scan records status, time, location and serial number, creating digital evidence at goods receipt.
Application and use
To combine a visual tilt indicator with a digital record of goods receipt. Apply the indicator vertically to a clean, clearly visible side of the packaging. Before dispatch, check the mounting orientation and mark the shipment as instructed.

Tilt indicator read using an RFID reader
How it works
Tilt indicator for angles above 85° with a visual signal and passive RFID tag. Automatically flags shipments for inspection at receipt without visual checks.
Application and use
For automatically checking large batches of shipments using RFID. Apply the indicator vertically to a clean, clearly visible side of the packaging. Before dispatch, check the mounting orientation and mark the shipment as instructed.

Questions to consider before choosing
The mechanism is designed to detect tilting or tipping over, rather than normal vibration. The activation threshold and tolerance depend on the variant.
Mount the indicator on a vertical, clearly visible surface of the packaging, following the instructions. The position should allow easy inspection before accepting the shipment.
