Product range / ShockWatch shock indicators
Mechanical indicators that turn red when a set acceleration threshold is exceeded. They show that a shipment or device has been mishandled and needs inspection.

Sensitivity selection
Enter the parcel dimensions and weight — the calculator will calculate the volume and recommend a sensitivity (G rating) based on the manufacturer's selection chart for ShockWatch 2 and ShockWatch 2 QR shock indicators.
SELECTION IS FOR GUIDANCE ONLY — THE FINAL SENSITIVITY SHOULD BE CONFIRMED THROUGH PACKAGE DROP TESTS. IMPORTANT: THE CALCULATOR PROVIDES A SUGGESTED STARTING POINT. IF YOU SHIP VERY FRAGILE EQUIPMENT (E.G. OPTICS, ELECTRONICS OR MEDICAL EQUIPMENT) IN THICK, SHOCK-ABSORBING PACKAGING, AN INDICATOR ONE SENSITIVITY LEVEL HIGHER (LOWER G) THAN SUGGESTED BY WEIGHT AND DIMENSIONS ALONE IS USUALLY SELECTED.
Practical applications
A shipment shock indicator provides a permanent indication that the selected impact threshold has been exceeded. It helps identify loads requiring inspection on receipt and document mishandling.
Servers, laboratory equipment, diagnostic devices and precision components.
Motors, transformers, industrial equipment and heavy specialist loads.
Fragile items, exhibition equipment and high-value shipments.

Full product range details
A single-use shock indicator provides a permanent indication that the selected acceleration threshold has been exceeded. Mounted on packaging or directly on a product, it helps detect mishandling of electronics, medical equipment, machinery, transformers, glass and other sensitive loads.
ShockWatch 2 provides a simple visual check, QR and RFID versions support digital records, and MAG 2000 is designed for heavy loads. Clips, Tubes and Flex allow the mounting method to be adapted to the product's design.

Impact indicator with data logging via phone scan
How it works
A proven impact indicator combined with a QR code. Each phone scan logs the indicator status, date, time, location and serial number in the SpotSee cloud, providing a complete shipment handling history.
Application and use
For applications requiring a digital record of phone-based checks alongside the colour change. Arm and mount the indicator in the same way as ShockWatch 2. At each subsequent checkpoint, scan the QR code with a phone to record the status, time, location and serial number.
How it works in 3 steps
| Sensitivities | 5, 10, 15, 25, 37, 50 and 75 G |
|---|---|
| Digital reading | QR code, no app required |
| Recorded data | status, time, location and serial number |
| Operating temperature | −25 °C to +80 °C |

Product FAQ
For applications requiring a digital record of phone-based checks alongside the colour change.
Select the sensitivity according to the load's weight, dimensions and fragility, the packaging design and the expected handling conditions. Key features of this solution include read with any phone, no app required and route and carrier data in the cloud.

Single-use impact indicator for packaging
How it works
A tamper-resistant indicator that turns red when a set acceleration threshold is exceeded. Each unit has a unique number, allowing damage to be linked to a specific shipment.
Application and use
For visible, single-use impact monitoring on a carton, crate or device. Before dispatch, arm the indicator and then mount it on a rigid, clean surface of the packaging, usually in the lower third and near an edge.
| Sensitivities | 5, 10, 15, 25, 37, 50, 75 G |
|---|---|
| Pulse duration | 0.5–50 ms |
| Tolerance | ±15% at 20 °C |
| Operating temperature | −25 °C to +80 °C |
| Dimensions | 42.93 × 42.93 × 6.35 mm |
| Activation | armed on site |
| Response | to a single impact |
| Shelf life | 2 years from date of manufacture |

Product FAQ
For visible, single-use impact monitoring on a carton, crate or device.
Select the sensitivity according to the load's weight, dimensions and fragility, the packaging design and the expected handling conditions. Key features of this solution include sensitivities from 5 g to 75 g and on-site activation, tamper-resistant.

Reusable impact indicator for heavy loads
How it works
An indicator for loads over 230 kg, railway wagons and semi-trailers. Two sensitive magnets separate when an excessive impact occurs, showing its direction and severity. After inspection, the indicator can be reset with a key and reused.
Application and use
For heavy machinery, railway wagons, transformers and oversized loads. Mount the indicator on a rigid, clean surface of the packaging or product. The lower part of the packaging, near an edge, is usually preferred; ShockWatch 2 and RFID versions must be armed before dispatch, while Label is active immediately.
| Range | 0.5–20 G, in 0.5 G increments |
|---|---|
| Pulse duration | 5–50 ms |
| Minimum load weight | approximately 230 kg |
| Use | reusable, key-operated reset |
| Dimensions | 63.5 × 61 mm |

Questions to consider before choosing
Selection depends on the weight, size, packaging design and the maximum acceleration the product can withstand. An overly sensitive version may respond to normal handling, while one with too high a threshold may fail to register a damaging event.
The indicator does not cushion impacts. It registers threshold exceedances, encourages careful handling and helps with inspection after delivery.
